The invention relates to such a cap (1) having a skirt (7) of thickness 0.15 to 0.30 mm and its tear-off strip (8) being provided with a grasping tongue (9) and being limited by two lines of weakness (12, 13) and having transverse corrugations (15), characterised in that these lines of weakness (12, 13) are external continuous grooves or incisions thinned by compression (12, 13) and having a base thickness of 0.1 to 0.16 mm, and in that the said corrugations (15) extend beyond the said grooves (12, 13) and have a pitch of less than 2.5 mm and an amplitude of less than 0.5 mm. The invention also relates to the method of manufacturing such a cap and typically applies to stopper and outer stopper caps of diameter between 15 and 50 mm. <IMAGE>
