PURPOSE:To generate a character simply and with good operability by converting an optional character generated as one size of a matrix pattern to a pattern of the other size and displaying it. CONSTITUTION:A program for executing a compression conversion to a font of 24X24 from a foot of 32X32 is prepared. Subsequently, a control part 12 executes read-out of data from an area 27 for storing a screen display font, but since there is no write data, execution of the program of conversion is started. That is, first of all, data of a printing font related to an input code is read out of its storage area 28, and with regard to this data, a prescribed compression conversion processing is executed and it is written in memories 31, 33. Accordingly, on display parts 441, 443 of an editing part 43 and a monitor part 44, a pattern in which a printing font of 32X32 registered already is compressed to 24X24 is displayed. In such a way, from an optional character pattern of one size, a pattern of the other size is generated and displayed automatically. |
