PURPOSE:To provide a recording material capable of non-contact, high-speed and high-resolution thermal recording using a laser beam with superior image preservability and print fixing properties and also an image formation technique by which to achieve high-speed and high-resolution thermal recording using a laser beam. CONSTITUTION:The subject recording material consists of at least, an absorptive layer containing a microcapsule which envelops a blend of a light absorptive material, polymer and a solvent with a boiling point of 180 deg.C or higher capable of dissolving or swelling the polymer as a core material provided on a support. In addition, an image recording technique uses the recording material and a laser beam. After irradiation of the light absorptive layer of the recording material with a laser beam in the form of an image, an image receiving sheet is attached to the light absorptive layer tightly and then is pressed. Subsequently, a visible image can be obtained by transferring a latent image formed on the light absorptive layer to the image receiving sheet in accordance with the irradiation dose of a laser beam. |
