Increase of breakage elongation of injection moulded thermotropic polycondensates - by holding in molten form after moulding, used in mudguards for cars and planes

The increase of the breaking elongation of injection moulded thermotropic polycondensates is claimed wherein the polycondensates are held in the molten form after moulding for 0.1-5000 (esp. 0.1-500) secs. Pref. the polycondensate contains units of (a) aromatic hydroxycarboxylate acid and/or (b) aromatic aminocarboxylic acids, (a) diphenol and/or (d) aminophenol, (e) aromatic dicarboxylic acid and opt. carbonic acid derivs. in amts. of 40-85 mol. (a) 0-40 mol. % (b), 60-15 mol. % (c) and pref. the Mn of the polycondensate is more than 8500 (more than 10000) g/mol. USE/ADVANTAGE - The polycondensates form moulded parts with isotropic mechanical characteristics. The parts can be used in mudguards for automobiles and planes.
