<p>The proposal is for an ignition system for internal combustion engines with semiconductor circuit components arranged in the secondary circuit with at least one capacitor having a steepening effect on the ignition voltage. The semiconductor components are preferably four-layer diodes in cascade (6) which ensure that the ignition voltage is applied to the sparking plugs in a pulse only once a predetermined level has been reached. A more intense steepening effect can hereby be obtained if a capacitor (9) is fitted on the secondary side between the secondary winding (5) and the four-layer diode cascade (6) in parallel with the secondary winding.</p> |
