A fibre reinforced component (20) such as an aerofoil blade comprises a plurality of layers of fibres (22, 23, 24) impregnated with a matrix material. Each layer (22, 23, 24) is constituted by a fabric which has been initially woven in the form of a tube. At least one of the fabric tubes is deformed after weaving so as to alter the configuration of its fibres. |
