摘要 PURPOSE:The object of the invention is to provide a heat-resistant inorganic composition giving a highly pure cordierite-like porous heat-resistant material having specific thermal characteristics such as excellent heat resistance, excellent thermal impact resistance and low thermal expansion and a high strength and capable of being readily processed into honeycomb structures or board structures. CONSTITUTION:The heat-resistant inorganic composition of the invention comprises heat-resistant inorganic fibers containing alumina, alumina-silica, silica, etc., as a main component and the powder mixture of alumina, silica and magnesia each having an average particle diameter of 5mum, wherein the compounding ratio of the Al2O3:SiO2:MgO in the composition is 31-41wt.%: 46-53wt.%: 11-19wt.%, respectively, and wherein the weight ratio of the powder mixture/the inorganic fibers is (0.5-5)/1.
