PURPOSE:To perform backup with a power source for backup with relatively small capacity by reducing the image and storing the further compressed picture data in a backup memory backup by a battery. CONSTITUTION:A operational memory 14 is not backed up by the battery. A backup memory 15 is composed of a random access memory (RAM), and backed up by a backup power supply 16. Further, a bus 12 is connected to a compression/extention circuit 18, a reduction/expansion circuit 19, an input/ output control circuit 21, a recording control part 22, a reading control part 23, and a communication control part 24. It is stored in the backup memory 15 while reducing the picture. Therefore, even when the power source is turned off suddenly, the reduction and the memory storage is not performed and many data can be preserved using the backup power source 16 with relatively small capacity.
