<p>A fibre web (4) is transported by means of conveyor belts (2, 5) passing around rollers (32-43, 60-69). Some of said rollers are carried by primary reciprocating carriers (10, 14) above a floor (8) which moves in parallel to the roller axes and collects the web (4) in the form of a lap. Secondary carriers (16, 18) are provided to keep constant the length of the runs of the conveyor belts (2, 5) despite of the reciprocating motions of the primary carriers (10, 14). Each secondary carrier (16, 18) is situated in a lower passage (70) extending under the floor (8) and separated therefrom by at least one partition wall (72).
