The invention concerns a method and assembly for operating an electronically controlled lock/lock cylinder. The invention does this by virtue of the fact that the lock cylinder (1) contains a microprocessor (16) which, in a preferred embodiment, receives its programme commands via optronic couplers and passes the commands on to a micromotor (12) which is connected to a cam (13) in such a way that it releases the locking pin (3) or locks it in place with virtually no friction so that the actual lock bolt (2), and hence the lock, is or will be opened/closed. In addition, the cam bearing (47) makes so little force necessary that it is possible to power the motor by means of a battery (18) and/or by an accumulator (65) charged using solar cells (66) or inductive currents. With heavy bolt mechanisms, the lock and its associated electromagnets would, of course, be powered by mains current. |
