<p>A composite beam (1) is formed from two complementarily engaged like beam elements (2, 3). In particular, element (2) includes two parallel longitudinally extending opposed portions (4, 5). A curved intermediate portion (6) extends obliquely from a longitudinal edge (7) of portion (4) to an opposed longitudinal edge (8) of portion (5) and defines an abutment surface (9). A locking formation in the form of a longitudinally extending strip (10) peripherally depends from edge (11) of portion (5). Element (3) is similarly configured. Also disclosed is a method of forming a composite beam (1).</p> |
