Bone-bonding material for complicated fracture

Material comprises a cylindrical body made of a bio-absorbable medical material(s) and has a cut in the longitudinal direction which may be opened on use. Specifically, the materials for the cylindrical body include polylactide, polyglycolide, polylactide-polyglycolide copolymer, p-dioxanone, caprolactam, or collagen. The body is formed e.g. by rounding a sheet of 0.5 to several mm thickness, boring a hole through a rod substrate, or extrusion-moulding. The body pref. retains its strength for up to several months after application. The raw materials may be reinforced by drawing or making their cpd. prods. with other types of materials. The body is fixed with e.g. screws, bolts, or nuts.
