The anchoring system has a shrouding tube assembly (5) round the anchoring cable strands (2) with a separating and lubricating cladding (15) between the cables (2) and the inner side of the shrouding tube (5). The shrouding tube (5) is of steel and/or polyethylene, with a bitumen coating (15) to separate the cables from the tube and act as a lubricant. When the clamp has been removed at least one side of the building structure it is cut clear and a pressure plate is attached to a projecting cable. The remainder of the clamp is removed at the other side of the structure by withdrawal through the release of the pressure plug. The pressure plate is round, and the cable strands are secured to it by wedge fixtures. ADVANTAGE - The system gives and easy exchange of the clamp which holds the anchoring assembly in place.
