PURPOSE:To eliminate after-images completely after editing and to obtain properly edited pictures by constituting a titled device in such a way that an extension signal is being selected just before an editing point at the time of editing and recording of new image signals in the place where signals are recorded and a partial signal is being selected after an editing point. CONSTITUTION:Image data impressed through an input terminal 1 is converted into prediction errors in a subtracter 2, quantized in a quantizer 3 and added to the 1st prediction value 7 in the 1st adder 4, thereby becoming a partial signal 5. A screen A has been recorded on a magnetic tape 10, and the nth and subsequent frames are again re-recorded and re-edited on a screen B. While image data on the screen B are impressed on the input terminal 1, frames before the nth frame are reproduced on the magnetic tape 10. At the moment, a reproducing head 11 traces the nth frame on the magnetic tape 10 an operation is shifted to a recording mode. Simultaneously a switch 40 selects the partial signal 5. After this, the partial signal 5 is recorded on the magnetic tape 10 while the switch is selecting the partial signal 5. |
