The fastener anchor bolt (1) and a clamping wedge (2) are held together for transport and insertion into a drilled hole (24) by a flange (5) which serves at the same time to hold a load (25) against a wall etc (23). The wedge (2) is provided on its outer surface (11) with projections (21) which in the contracted state of the fastener abut a through recess of the flange, whilst the rest of the outer face of the wedge has a certain amount of play w.r.t. the recess.
