PURPOSE:To provide a flash illumination device capable of controlling light distribution by use of one flash bulb and a camera provided with the flash illumination device. CONSTITUTION:The device is provided with a light emitting part (flash bulb) 11 and a light quantity adjusting means 13 arranged in front of the light emitting part 11 and provided with plural light emitting areas 13a-13c which correspond to irradiated areas and for adjusting the quantity of the light to be emitted from plural light emitting areas so that it may become an applicable value corresponding to the irradiated area. In the case that the value corresponding to the irradiated area is obtained based on the spatial distribution state of the object, both of a distant object and a close object can be uniformly illuminated. In the case that the spatial distribution state of the object is asymmetric, the light distribution becomes asymmetric. |
