<p>PURPOSE:To reduce the processing time required for compression and expansion without use of any exclusive hardware. CONSTITUTION:The picture data processor 1 is used for compressing a contrast picture data and coding the result and decoding a coded compressed data and expanding the result, and a linear filter 6 executes addition operation including a linear prediction calculation for compression and expansion and a CPU 24 executes the software processing relating to coding and decoding. Since the load of the software processing is limited to the coding and the decoding, the processing time is reduced and since the linear prediction calculation is implemented by using the linear filter 6 usually employed for the picture processor, no exclusive hardware is needed.</p> |
