PURPOSE:To smoothly open an air bag lid with a slight force during the expansion of an air bag. CONSTITUTION:The position P1 of the center of gravity of an air bag lid 9 is set below a position at which the air bag lid 9 comes closest to an air bag device 1. While an air bag 8 expands, a control means is used to make the expansive force of the inflating air bag 8 vertically uniformly act on the air bag lid 9. Pressure with which the air bag 8 expands is made to act eariler on that portion of the air bag lid 9 which is below the position P1 of the center of gravity than on that portion of the lid 9 which is above the position P1. |
