PURPOSE:To enhance the degree of freedom in the designing of an air bag device without deteriorating the opening performance of an air bag lid. CONSTITUTION:An air bag lid 9 is singly and upwardly opened. The opening of an instrument panel 2 has its upper edge located ahead of its lower edge. The front face of an air bag case 3 is disposed ahead of the lower edge of the opening of the instrument panel 2 by a predetermined distance. The air bag lid 9 take such a configuration that its upper and lower side portions 9B, 9C are joined to the upper and lower side portions 2A, 2B of the instrument panel 2, respectively. |
