<p>A combine harvester (10) is disclosed which comprises threshing and separating means (26) including a rotatable threshing drum (28) and a cooperating concave (32) for threshing harvested crop material therebetween and separating wanted grain together with chaff material through the concave (32). An endless apron conveyor (40) is operable to receive the separated material from the threshing drum (28) and to supply said material to a cleaning mechanism (42). The threshing drum (28) and cooperating concave (32) are housed at least partially in a transversely extending V-shaped trough (196) of which the rearwardly facing side, as seen in the direction of operative travel, is defined by said apron conveyor (40). The cleaning mechanism (42) comprises a grain pan (192) and cleaning sieves (44), carried by a generally rectangular sub frame, which is pivotable around a generally fore-and-aft extending axis for permitting, when the combine harvester (10) is transversely inclined relative to the vertical, said grain pan (192) and cleaning sieves (44) to be pivoted to a substantially horizontal position. The discharge end (188) of the apron conveyor (40) surmounts the material receiving end of said grain pan (192) irrespective of its relative adjusted position. <IMAGE></p> |
