<p>PURPOSE:To distinguish the residual amount of sheets in a sheet feeder cassette device. CONSTITUTION:A photo-reflex type sensor device 16a is installed in the position confronting a sheet feeder cassette device 10a, and when a pickup roller 37a lies in the non-takeout position over the cassette device 10a. judgement is made if there is any sheet P from occurrence of light reception by a photo-receiving element 14. A photo-absorbing member is provided on the pickup roller 37a, and the residual amount of sheets P is distinguished from occurrence of light reception by the photo-receiving element 14 when the roller 37a is taken out. This enables refilling of sheets P before sheets go out on the way of a copying run, and thus the operating easiness in copying and refilling sheets is enhanced.</p> |
