The functions which can be carried out by video and/or television apparatuses are becoming increasingly diverse. Accordingly, the remote controls for these apparatuses must also be fitted with an ever-increasing number of operating elements, which renders the remote controls large, unwieldy and complicated. It is proposed to construct a remote control in which a substantial number of operating functions is carried out by means of a control ball within the remote control. The control ball, which is known in part from computer technology, is to be designed, however, in such a way that it protrudes from both the underside and the upper side of the remote control. Thus, it can be rolled along on a support or, when held in the hand, can be moved from the remote control upper side with the fingers. Spring-loaded sliding pads on the remote control underside prevent the movement of the control ball from being restricted if the remote control lies on a support, and the control ball is nevertheless moved with the fingers from the upper side. <IMAGE> |
