PURPOSE:To obtain an optical memory card having high recording density for executing stably recording and reproducing operation by providing a guide groove for designating a recording place, and a recording thin film on a card- shaped base substance, and providing a branch path on the guide groove. CONSTITUTION:A position for forming a guide groove of a photoresist on a glass plate is exposed by a condensing laser beam, and by developing it, an original edition on which the groove has been formed is obtained. Subsequently, a stamper is made by means of nickel electroforming, and by using this stamper, the groove is transferred to a transparent plastic material, and a transparent base substance 11 of an optical memory card having a guide groove 15 is obtained. Also, a recording thin film 12 is formed on the transparent base substance 11, and a ground layer 13 consisting of a substance whose light absorption is small and also whose thermal conductivity is low, such as CS2, etc. and a protective layer 14 are formed in order. At the time of recording, a recording/reproducing head is set to an initial set position 15c corresponding to a trunk of the guide groove 15, and a focal control and a tracking control are applied. Next, the head is moved in the direction parallel to the groove in order to enter into a prescribed track 15b. |
