PURPOSE: To provide a method and device for easy access even when plural optical graphic images expressing software objects on plural overlapped display windows are shield by the overlapped display windows. CONSTITUTION: In a data processing system in which plural display windows whose at least one part is overlapped are simultaneously displayed, and plural software objects are provided, a specific one is graphic-selected from plural selectable optical graphic images present on the first display window by an optical indicator. The selected optical graphic image is rearranged at the exposed part of the second display window so that the rearrangement of the overlapped display windows can be operated, and the optical graphic image can be easily seen by moving the second display window to the most upper part. Moreover, when the selected graphic image passes through the middle display window, the automatic rearrangement can be prohibited as necessary.
