<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a submarine cable searching device which can be economically realized by coupling a searching device element to an attitude stabilizer and so composing that the centers of gravities of the element and an attitude stabilizing plate are moved to the surface side of the sea bottom in a normally sitting attitude at the bottom. CONSTITUTION:Coupling parts 46, 48 of an attitude stabilizing plate 44 are so secured that a straight line for connecting the parts 46, 48 is disposed above the center of gravity of the plate 44. Coupling parts 50, 52 of a searching device element 42 are so secured that a straight line for connecting the parts 50, 52 is disposed above the center of gravity of the element 42. A submarine cable searching device 40 first arrives at a rear of a chain 21 at the sea bottom. Then, a towing wire 20 is fed, and arrives at the sea bottom while a cable ship is advanced at a slow speed to apply a tension to the wire. Thus, a searching line cutter 43 normally arrives at the sea bottom in an attitude in contact with the surface of the sea bottom.</p> |
