PURPOSE:To improve a measurment accuracy by a method wherein a coexistent component in a sample is converted into a material receiving no interference under a hydrogen reducting atmosphere. CONSTITUTION:Flame material SOx and Sx in the sample of an automobile exhaust gas injected from a sample introducing capilary 12 of a system radiate light at contact with a hydrogen flame 6. At this time, the air having an oxygen concentration about 11-16% lower than usual is supplied from a combustion assisting air supplying system and the ambient area of the hydrogen flame becomes a reduction atmosphere containing excessive hydrogen. Accordingly, coexistent components CO, CO2, and NO are reduced by means of a catalyzer 31 around the hydrogen flame 6. The reducting components CH4 and N2 do not interfere with the flame of SOx and Sx and given no harmful effect, as a result, a meter output value of high accuracy can be obtained. |
