PURPOSE:To efficiently use the memory area of the memory unit and to enable high speed read-in and recording, by equally dividing the area of memory unit into a plurality of areas with the specified capacity of compressed information, and providing the control means which performs memory and transmission of video signal in the sectional unit. CONSTITUTION:An original is set to a given location and the read-in scanning is started with a scanning reader 1, then the video information read in is removed for the redundancy with a compressed coder 2 and stored in a memory unit 3. The stored video signal is transmitted to opposing terminals through a MODEM4 in a specified step. On the other hand, the video signal transmitted from the opposing terminals is stored in the memory unit 3 through the MODEM4. The stored reception video signal is restored to the original video information through a compression decoder 9 and recorded with a recorder 10. In this case, the read-in signal from the scanning reader 1, recording signal to the recorder 10 and the signal to the MODEM4 can simultaneously be accessed with a system controller 8. |
