<p>The invention relates to a teletransmission device (10) for the automation of an electrical distribution network (MT) comprising master (14) and slave (27) communication means with in-line carrier currents utilising, through capacitive coupling, the lines of the network (MT) as transmission support for the exchange of information and commands to a plurality of interrupt members (I1A, I2A,... I1B, I2B,... I1C, I2C,... D). Depending on the priority code of the modems (30), on the level of the signal received, and on the open or closed position of certain interrupt members, the transmission device (10) is automatically partitioned into several disjoint sub-networks each containing a source substation (PSA, PSB, PSC) to which is allocated a communication zone (ZA, ZB, ZC), the boundaries of which for normal purposes are formed by open route switches. Under emergency conditions following an incident in the network (MT), the modems (30) of the communication means (14, 27) modify the boundaries of the communication zones (ZA, ZB, ZC) by virtue of the configuration of the coupling circuit (45) capable of being in a first bypass state, or in a second dual coupling state.
