The composition consists of a two-part gelatin capsule in which there is a substance which increases in volume on release in the stomach, is non-toxic and has a low calorific value, and which can be broken down again within the digestive tract of the human body, for example compressed cellulose. This confers a feeling of repletion on the person taking it, owing to the enlargement in volume in the stomach, for a certain time, which facilitates weight reduction.
