WRITING INSTRUMENT ASSEMBLY AND ASSEMBLY METHOD

A writing instrument assembly and assembly method are disclosed. The assembly includes a pocket clip (20) partially extended into the cap (10) and pivotable about a ring (30) which is embedded within a plastic insert (50) fixed to the cap. The assembly technique includes steps for preassembling the components of the cap assembly prior to embedding the ring into the plastic insert.
