PURPOSE:To previously prevent jamming of a sheet material fed from a paper manually feeding port from occurring in a both-side image forming mode or a multiple image forming mode. CONSTITUTION:A sheet material hardness detecting device 76 for detecting the hardness of the sheet material S fed from a paper manually feeding port 12 is provided on a feeding path 51 of the manually feeding port 12. The sheet material hardness detecting device 76 acts when the hardness of the sheet material S is equal to or above a specified hardness and outputs a detection signal to a CPU 22. When the CPU 22 inputs the detected signal, stops a both-side copying mode or a multiple copying mode, and changes a mode to a one side copying mode. |
