PURPOSE:To prevent an adverse effect of the vibration of a device and to make it possible to mix scattered particles surely in a fluid to be measured, by flinging up the scattered particles by driving a blade wheel disposed in a storage chamber of the scattered particles, from outside, by a motor. CONSTITUTION:In a Doppler current meter 2, scattered particles 5 are mixed in a fluid 4 to be measured and are made to follow the running of the fluid, a laser beam is applied thereto, reflected waves therefrom are received and a current velocity is measured on the basis of a frequency variation accompanying a Doppler shift effect produced by the running of the particles 5. A storage chamber 8 of a device 6 for mixing-in of the scattered particles is made to communicate with the lower part of a pipeline 1 with a mesh-shaped partition plate 7 interposed, a blade wheel 9 inside the chamber is driven from outside by a motor and thereby the particles 5 are flung up and mixed in the fluid 4 through the partition plate 7. Since the motor is not fixed directly to a vessel 11, but fixed to another member, an adverse effect of the rotational vibration thereof is prevented. The particles 5 are selected by the partition plate 7 and only those having particle sizes suitable for measurement are mixed in the fluid 4. Consequently, the precision in measurement is increased. |
