PURPOSE:To carry out variable control of the damping force of a shock absorber properly by detecting the motion over and under springs of a vehicle accurately. CONSTITUTION:Signals are inputted to a signal processing circuit 4 from the upper and lower acceleration sensors 3 which are disposed over springs of a vehicle body and on respective wheels independently. Speed signals corresponding to speed elements in an over-spring resonance frequency range are taken out of the signal processing circuit 4 through an integrator 41 and a band pass filter 42, and acceleration signals corresponding to acceleration elements in an under-spring resonance frequency range through a band pass filter 43 correctly. These signals are inputted in a judgment circuit 5, and compared with the preset range value of damping force control to be judged. A driving circuit 6 outputs signals to an actuator 7 based on the signals of the above judgment circuit 5 and drives the actuator to change the damping force of the shock absorber 2. It is thus possible to ensure comfortability, maneuverability, and safety of a vehicle in various driving conditions. |
