PURPOSE:To save power consumption and to improve operability by controlling starting and stopping actions of energizing the heat source of an image forming device by a signal from a controller. CONSTITUTION:A printing instructing signal is transmitted from a printer controller 2 based on the signal from a host computer 4. The paper feeding of a recording paper is started from a paper feeding device by the action of a driving part in a printer 1, at the same time, the heat source, for example, a heater in a fixing device is started to be energized. When printing actions of a specified number of papers are finished and a final recording paper is ejected outside the device, the signal informing the finish of the printing is transmitted to the controller 2 from the printer 1 and an instructing signal for stopping energizing the heater is transmitted to the printer 1 from the controller 2. Thus, power is supplied to the heat source such as the heater of the fixing device only when the printer is acting. Since an operator need not operate a switch when the energizing is started or stopped, the operability is improved. |
