<p>PURPOSE:To select a picture at an optional moment freely by providing a picture storage device and to display the picture as a still picture with high picture quality. CONSTITUTION:A search dial 8 is operated in the state of reproduction of a still picture while monitoring a video output from a video signal processing circuit 2 demodulating an output signal of a rotating magnetic head 1 and restoring the signal to the video signal. When a switch 6 is depressed at a decided field, a tape is rewound for several seconds automatically with a control signal of a control circuit 4A and the normal reproduction is started from a rewound position. The moment when a picture at a depressed position of the switch 6 is reproduced, a signal is sent from the control circuit 4A to a picture storage device 3 and after the picture is fetched, a signal changeover circuit 5 reproduces the picture as a still picture. Thus, the still picture at an optional moment is displayed with high picture quality without use of a complicated mechanism controlling a head fitted to a cylinder to be moved and to trace accurately onto a recorded track.</p> |
