PURPOSE:To offer much map information which is useful to a driver at all times. CONSTITUTION:A course change intersection detection part 17 finds the 1st most precedent course change intersection on a guidance road when a destination is viewed from the vehicle and the 2nd following course change intersection, and a display center place calculation part 18 finds a point, which is close to the 1st course change intersection by a constant distance from the vehicle position on the straight line connecting the vehicle position and the 1st course change intersection, as a display center position when the 1st course change intersection is present and the distance between the vehicle position and 1st course change intersection is larger than the constant distance, a point, which is close to the 2nd course change intersection by the constant distance from the vehicle position on the straight line connecting the vehicle position and 2nd course change intersection when the 1st and 2nd course change intersections are present and the distance between the vehicle position and 1st course change intersection is less than the constant distance, and a point which is close to the destination by the constant distance from the vehicle position on the straight line connecting the vehicle position and destination in other cases. Under the control of a map drawing control part 13, an image wherein a vehicle position mark is superimposed on a map which includes the display center position in the center is displayed on a screen. |
