PURPOSE:To manufacture a negative electrode of a nonaqueous electrolyte of excellent mass productivity, having no obstacle to electromotion reaction. CONSTITUTION:A circular lithium 1b of circular shape is pressure-applied to the inside of a negative electrode sealing plate from an angular lithium piece 1a. A negative electrode is formed in a process in which the angular lithium piece 1a is preliminarily pressurized by a divided spheric preliminary mold frame having the diameter 1.5-2.5 times as large as a finally processed outer diameter of a lithium metallic abutting part, and in a process in which the circular lithium 1b is applied in a predetermined shape in a negative electrode can by a mold frame in which the shape of the lithium metal abutting part is flat.
