PURPOSE:To provide an automatic ink feeder for proof press which can feed accurately ink by a simple structure and by using a chart for control of density and a pattern area of a printing plate as a control parameter. CONSTITUTION:An automatic ink feeder is provided to a proof press having printing plate finisher's 6, 7, 8, 9, a printing finisher's slab 5, and a carriage 2. This feeder is equipped with a measuring unit 18 provided to the carriage 2, a printing density measuring means which measures density of a solid patch 82,, a pattern area measuring means which measures an area of a pattern 71, and an ink feed quantity control means which controls an ink feed quantity. The printing density measuring means and the pattern area measuring means abovementioned respectively measure printing density and a pattern area based on information from the carriage 2. Then, the ink feed quantity control means abovementioned controls the ink feed quantity based on measured results by the printing density measuring means and the pattern area measuring means. |
