PURPOSE:To provide the magnetic toner which has high image densities and fine line part reproducibility from an initial period and with which good images free from fogging and ghosts are stably obtainable and does not impart the durability of a sleeve and blade. CONSTITUTION:This toner is used in the image developing method which develops the electrostatic images by disposing a developing device in which a toner layer thickness regulating member coated with an electrifiable material having an electron-withdrawing group is pressed to a toner carrying member and an electrostatic image holder holding electrostatic images apart a specified spacing in a developing section and applying alternate electric fields to develop. The above-mentioned toner is a magnetic toner contg. at least a binder resin and a magnetic material and resin particles having the electrostatic chargeability of the same polarity as the polarity of the toner particles and having 0.03 to 1.0mum average grain size are externally added to the toner, by which the positively charged electrostatic charge image developing magnetic toner is obtd.
