<p>PURPOSE:To manufacture a pipe end screw protector which is sufficient in the strength, disposable by burning and cheap by a method wherein materials of pulp fibers and reinforcing synthetic resin are mixed and heated, then poured into a preheated metal die and press-molded while being heated. CONSTITUTION:Materials of 50 to 90wt.% of pulp fiber and 10 to 50wt.% of reinforcing synthetic resin are heated and then poured into a preheated metal die, and press-molded while being heated. Thus a pipe end screw protector 3 is manufactured. In this instance, one or two kinds of inorganic or metal fibers having a fiber length of 20 to 40mm are added. As the protector 3 thus made of pulp fibers is smaller in heat generation than resin-made protectors, and therefore can be burned in general incinarators, a disposal problem after use can be solved. The reinforcing synthetic resin is one which shows enough strength and firmness when mixed and molded with the pulp fibers, and polyolefin or the like is employed.</p> |
