PURPOSE:To form an antireflection film having improved adhesion and high durability on a plastic optical member without forming an under-layer. CONSTITUTION:A cerium dioxide layer 5 of (1/10)lambda-(1/8)lambda thickness as a first layer is formed on the surface of a plastic optical member and a silicon dioxide layer 4 of (1/4)lambda-(1/3)lambda thickness as a second layer is formed on the layer 5. In this case, at least the cerium dioxide layer is formed by vapor deposition under irradiation with Ar beams. A first layer having high strength and satisfactory adhesion can be formed. |
