PURPOSE:To provide the title compound having a specific macrocyclic polypeptide structure, with high antifungal, esp. antimycobacterial activity against a variety of human and animal pathogenic microorganisms, thus effective as an antifungal agent. CONSTITUTION:Microorganisms such as Coleophoma sp. F-11899 strain are inoculated into a medium and incubated under shaking at 25 deg.C for 4 days, and an equal amount of acetone is added to the resulting culture solution followed by filtration, and the filtrate is concentrated under reduced pressure. The residue formed is purified with silica gel column chromatography to obtain a compound of formula I. Thence, this compound or its salt is put to elimination reaction for the N-acyl group followed by, where needed, acylation, thus obtaining the objective new polypeptide (or its salt) of formula II (R<1> is H or acyl; R<2> is hydroxyl or acyloxy; R<3> is hydroxysulfonyloxy; R<4> is H or carbamoyl). |
