NONWOVEN FABRIC SOLIDIFIED BY MELTING BINDING AGENT

摘要

PURPOSE: To obtain a high strength nonwoven fabric by melting/binding supporting aramid fibers with binding fibers made of specific thermoplastic aramids. CONSTITUTION: At least one of the supporting aramid fiber and the binding aramid fiber is not dissolved in an organic solvent. A nonwoven fabric is formed by using staple fibers of both fibers and, if necessary, is subjected to mechanical preliminary solidification treatment. The obtained nonwoven fabric is heated to such a temperature that the bonding aramid fiber is completely melted and bonded points made of the thermoplastic aramid fibers are formed at the crossing parts with the supporting aramid fibers to obtain the objective nonwoven fabric solidified by means of the melt binding fibers.
