PURPOSE:To permit a gap between rolls to be adjusted easily and precisely using an inexpensive instrument without stopping the roll operation. CONSTITUTION:An upper roll 10 is mounted to a bearing 11 and a lower roll 20 is mounted to a bearing 21. The bearing 11 of the upper roll 10 is fixed to a plate-like housing 12. A vertical groove 13 on each side of the housing 12 is vertically slidably fitted to the edge of each of the notch parts 31 of a frame 30. The bearing 21 of the lower roll 20 is fixed to the frame 30. A cotter- like slider 40 is provided between the bearings 11 and 21, a main scale 60 is provided outside the slider 40 and a vernier 61 is provided outside the frame 30. A handle shaft 41 of the slider 40 is rotated to move the slider 40 in order to slide the housing 12 vertically, whereby a gap between the rolls can be adjusted. The roll gap can be adjusted precisely by reading the overlapping scales of the main scale 60 and the vernier 61. |
