PURPOSE:To provide a image recognizing device which does not cause any misrecognition in an image recognizing process due to variation in environmental temperature when the device is used as an image recognition applying device. CONSTITUTION:The image recognizing device which has an image forming lens for forming the image of an object of recognition on an image detector, and recognizes the image of an object by detecting the distance between the object and image forming lens, and moving and controlling the object so that the image on the image detector is at a focusing position is equipped with a temperature detecting means 8 which detects the temperature of the image forming lens, a control means 10 which calculates variation in the focal length of the image forming lens from variation in the temperature detected by the temperature detecting means 8 and controls the distance between the object and image forming lens, and an image recognizing means 10 which recognizes the image by correcting the magnification of the image obtained from the image detector with the controlled distance between the object and image forming lens. |
