Electric sauna heater utilising latent heat of fusion - stores heat in molten aluminium in cylinder with controlled ventilation at centre of stone packed vaporiser

The thermally insulated heater with a lid (2) encloses a central cylindrical container (5) with a resistive element (4) in a cylindrical air channel (10) surrounded by a mass (6) of Al or LiF-MgF2 mixt. The cylinder (5) is surrounded by stone packing (3) and ventilated by an air regulator valve (9). Part of the thermal energy stored in the Al (6) raises the sauna temp. to the desired level. The remainder maintains the stone temp. for steam prodn. ADVANTAGE - Power consumption is reduced and shifted from evening peak by device exhibiting good steaming properties at low temps.
