Vehicle with hydraulically dampened steering gear - has servo-steering with conduits, short-circuited by oil compensation tank

The steering is for a motor vehicle with a hydraulically damped steering gear(4), formed by a servo steering system. The conduits(15,16) of this are short-circuited by a compensation vessel(17). A steering rod(1) has a piston rod section(2), fastened to a piston(10). The piston devides the working cylinder(3) into two working chambers(11,12). Each chamber has a connection(13,14) for a conduit connected to the compensation vessel. Another section of the steering rod is formed as a steering rack. The piston, or one of the conduits, is connected to a valve or a throttle bore. USE/ADVANTAGE - Hydraulic damping of the steering is achieved by simple alteration of standard parts already used in the motor vehicle industry.
