An outer ring for a vibration-proof homokinetic joint has an inner casing (14) and an outer casing (13). Vibration-proof members (23) made of an elastic material are disposed between the inner and outer casings. The outer casing (13) is formed on an inner peripheral surface with protrusions (16) spaced circumferentially. The inner casing (14) is formed on an outer peripheral surface with grooves (20) spaced circumferentially to receive the protrusions (16). Thin plate members (22) are mounted between adjacent protrusions (16) and are bonded to the vibration-proof members (23). The vibration-proof members are bonded to the outer surface of the inner casing (14) and thus displacement of the inner casing (14) relative to the outer casing causes deformation of the vibration-proof member which is limited by abutment of the side walls of the grooves (20) with the protrusions (16). In another embodiment the vibration-proof members are bonded directly to the inner wall of the outer casing (13) rather than to the thin plate members. <IMAGE>
