PURPOSE:To provide a printer for which a recording paper is automatically fed, such as page printer or heat transfer printer, etc., which can cope with an application software of a serial printer. CONSTITUTION:For a serial printer, there are setting data which can be only set prior to the power source is turned on (it corresponds with first setting data of a printer for which a recording paper is automatically fed) and setting data which is initialized when the power source is turned off (it corresponds with second setting data of a printer for which a recording paper is automatically fed.) In order to make the automatically paper fed printer pseudo- correspond with the serial printer, an initializing means which can set the initialization values for the first setting data and second setting data when the power source is turned on is provided. When there is some change in the first setting data, the setting value of the first setting data, after the change, is initialized by the initializing means in the same manner, and fetched to an input data storage by a fetching means. |
