<p>The present invention relates to an article of paper machine clothing for use in high temperature applications, which article comprises:- a) a paper contacting surface layer adapted in use to contact a forming paper sheet; b) a base layer structure; and c) at least one intermediate layer disposed between said surface layer and said base layer structure, characterised in that said surface layer comprises a fibrous or continuous layer constituting a thermal barrier and providing properties of sheet release. <IMAGE></p>
